Abstract :
To fully demonstrate the advantage of using a Reference Sharing technique with Transmit Reference Ultra Wideband (TR-UWB) communication systems, a transceiver architecture is proposed. A modified 3-state pseudorandom noise (PN) sequence controls the inter-pulse delays of the Reference Sharing doublets (RS-doublet) to enable multiple access and to improve the bit error rate. It can be shown that with the proposed architecture, a total of 72% of the emission energy can be saved when compared to a conventional TR-UWB system.
