  • Abstract
The unconditionally stable ADI-FDTD algorithm is extended to analyze planar circuits containing passive and active circuit elements. The ADI-FDTD method is suitable for problems requiring long computation time since the time step can be sufficiently large. An example of a low noise amplifier is investigated to compare the results between the standard FDTD and ADI-FDTD. As our numerical results demonstrate, the ADI-FDTD is an efficient method for planar active circuits compared with standard FDTD method.
