  • Abstract
A single mode model and a full multimode equivalent network (MEN) approach have been adopted for the design of an FSS integrated phased array. The single mode equivalent transmission line model allows a systematic design of the FSS, starting from the requirements, and the results of this simple design procedure are similar to well known proposals (Munk, B.A., "Frequency Selective Surfaces: Theory and Design", John Wiley & Sons, 2000). It is important to note that the method becomes full wave at very moderate numerical cost, by just increasing the amount of accessible modes in the MEN approach. The accuracy of the results of the analysis is demonstrated by comparison with results of commercial codes.
