Abstract
We have made numerical simulations of scattered field from a simple rectangular cylinder with a size of 0.5λ × 0.5λ using a conventional finite difference frequency domain (FDFD) method and a new fast algorithm to solve the matrix equations employed on sub-domains respectively. The magnitudes of electric fields in nodes along boundary II are illustrated, and the phases are shown. Clearly, the numerical results from the two methods have excellent agreement. However, the computational efficiency has been greatly improved.
