Abstract
Periodical arrangements of longitudinally directed dipole particles over an infinite metal plane are considered. The dipoles, which may be small wire antennas or small thin longitudinal dielectric ellipsoids, are along a straight line and are close to each other, forming a dense dipole array. An analytical solution for waves propagating along this infinite dipole line structure is found. The system can be used as a transmission line with exotic and controllable properties.
