Abstract
The impact of the dispersion in breast tissue on the high-resolution UWB confocal microwave imaging is studied based on the measured dielectric data of the breast tissue and the breast skin. It is shown that within the UWB frequency range from 1 GHz to 10 GHz, the approximation of propagation speed in breast tissue and propagation path do not introduce significant impact on the image reconstruction of early breast tumor.
