Abstract :
Miniaturized, low profile, and high performance internal antennas for WLAN applications are desired to be less subject to the chassis characteristics. This paper presents the design and characteristics, and comparisons with simulation results, of an internal dual band antenna covering the frequency bands of 2.4-2.5/4.9-5.85 GHz. This is a combination of a ceramic chip element and PCB, and a miniaturized antenna measuring 39 mm × 4 mm × 1.8 mm including PCB. Measured results show that this antenna has wide frequency bandwidth for the required frequency and relatively good matching with simulations.
