Abstract
An adaptive array antenna, which performs space signal processing in a transmission-and-reception side, is used for MIMO. When the adaptive array antenna is carried on the mobile terminal, it is necessary to use multiple antennas. As the mobile terminal becomes smaller, the space to install antennas is narrower. Accordingly, it is very important to consider antenna element mutual coupling and shielding. Mutual coupling influences output SINR strongly. A mobile terminal adaptive array antenna, which consists of two antenna elements on the finite ground plane, is analyzed in simple propagation models.
