  • Abstract
A H-infinity controller for an active magnetic bearing (AMB) system is designed. Starting responses of the AMB system under disturbance and system parameters perturbation are investigated by simulation model. Selection of the controller weights function and initial position of rotor influence the starting performance. The relationship between control current and displacement of the rotor is presented. The results show that the developed H-infinity controller is able to ensure the system with good starting characteristics, strong robustness, and satisfying disturbance suppression effect.
