A novel location management method based on ad hoc networking

Location management (LM) as a vital process in every wireless network imposes significant volume of signaling traffic to the network. Different scheme have been proposed to decrease the cost of this signaling. In This work we propose a new scheme that reduces signaling load especially in the future wireless networks with a great amount of users besides new services. In this method, mobile terminals will be able to communicate with each other via ad hoc networking. Results of simulations show that the proposed scheme has better performance compared with time-based LM method.
