Abstract :
In the future, automobiles will be powered by a 42 V PowerNet. To supply conventional loads, such as incandescent lamps, PWM solutions and solutions using power modules are proposed. Compared to the PWM solutions, solutions using decentralised power modules can be more advantageous. This paper describes two power module prototypes using planar magnetic cores for such an application. The circuit topology and control strategies are described in detail. Experiment results of the prototypes are presented
