  • Abstract
More and more attentions have been paid to layered multicast for Internet intrinsic heterogeneity, but little work had been done on "adaptive layering" multicast. We proposed and evaluated a congestion control mechanism for adaptive layered multicast (ALM). Through a novel feedback aggregating algorithm, ALM dynamically determines the number of layers and the rate of each layer. Simulation results show that ALM is adaptive and TCP friendly.
