Abstract
We study and solve the asymptotic stabilization problem of second-order linear time-invariant switched systems. Using the phase plane techniques and the conic switching law, necessary and sufficient conditions for two subsystems with different equilibrium types (foci, nodes and saddle points) are obtained. Numerical examples show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
