Abstract
The problem addressed in this communication deals with the object-modelling of interconnected systems. This communication attempts to provide a bridge between the object-oriented modelling methods based on languages and compilers for simulation purpose, and the behavioral modelling approach based on a reliable mathematical formalism. An object-oriented model structure (multiport diagram) and a modelling procedure are developed. An application to a simple example is presented to illustrate the implementation of the multiport diagram into the modelling language Modelica/sup /spl copy//.
