Abstract
A number of data-driven methods have been proposed to diagnose the root causes of plant-wide oscillations, both by the authors and by others. Amongst these the bi-amplitude ratio index, correlation dimension, maximal Lyapunov exponent, non-linearity index and spectral ICA show promise. Their features are analysed and their performance on a set of simulation data and two case studies are compared.
