Abstract
We present an improved channel estimation algorithm for multiple-input and multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) based wireless networks, and design the optimal training sequences for the multiple antennas of the multiple cells which use the same frequency group. In order to achieve a better estimation, an iterative loop for suppressing cochannel interference (CCI) caused by frequency-reuse is added in our estimators. We describe the proposed estimators for wireless networks with synchronous and asynchronous CCI, and analyse their MSE performance. Computer simulation shows that the proposed estimators give much better performance than the conventional LS MIMO-OFDM channel estimator over non-sample-spaced multipath channels in wireless networks with CCI.
