Abstract
Concerning the composition method of photonic networks with combination of wavelength division multiplex (WDM) and optical time division multiplex (OTDM), we studied on the dynamic bandwidth assignment algorithm for photonic burst networks. In this paper the dynamic bandwidth assignment algorithm, which has the two modes, real-time mode and reservation mode, is proposed. In this algorithm, the prioritization scheme for aggregating packets into optical burst at the edge node in regional networks is investigated. And its network performance through computer simulation is evaluated.
