Abstract
This paper presents the WIND-FLEX system: a new wireless LAN modem developed in the 17 GHz band. A brief review of the transceiver hardware, which includes the design and development of oscillators, amplifiers and mixers, is included. MMIC devices have been used to implement the RF section of the modem. Characterization of the transceiver and evaluation of the modem performance in an indoor scenario are also summarized in the paper.
