Abstract
This paper describes an initiative of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, the University of Angers and the Name Polytechnic that aims to develop a network management model for large and complex systems. The project focuses on improving the prediction capabilities of the model to ensure the effectiveness of the online control system. A modular architecture was adopted to sequentially reduce the size and the complexity of the real system. The suggested model consists of four modules: the simulator, the monitor/emulator, the Petri nets and the optimization component. The congestion control algorithm that defines the optimization element is a closed loop control algorithm that uses responsive feedback passed only to its immediate neighbors.
