  • Abstract
A new method for partial interference cancellation in base station receivers that are equipped with antenna arrays is developed for code division multiple access systems. We show that the partial cancellation method has better performance if we cancel the interference caused by other users according to their detected information reliability using different weight coefficients. The values of partial weight coefficients are obtained by solving an optimization problem that attempts to remove other users´ contributions from the signal going to the next stage for the desired user. It is shown that the present space-time multiuser detection technique outperforms the complete parallel interference cancellation method where the increase in the receiver complexity is negligible.
