Abstract
An improved channel estimation algorithm is presented for broadband multi-input multi-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems. In the algorithm, the multipath time delays are firstly estimated by tracking the average powers of multipaths. With the multipath time delays information, a low complexity estimator based on parametric channel model is derived and the estimator´s performance is analysed. Simulation results show that the use of parametric channel model can effectively decrease the dimension of estimated parameters and, consequently, improve the channel estimation performance.
