Abstract
Cyclic duty for valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) products in telecommunication applications is a reality and has been recognized by several international VRLA standards, individual telecommunication equipment manufacturers and end users. The development of VRLA technology to meet cycle life requirements as well as float life requirements has been carried out. Testing has taken place using a broad range of cycle tests defined by international standards and some bespoke regimes, all testing carried out has utilised float voltage recharge to test performance under real life application conditions.
