  • Abstract
    This paper aims at resolving overlapped multipaths. A fast high resolution overlapping delay estimation technique is proposed. The method first uses a new correlation-based estimation function to eliminate the effect on estimation error caused by complex amplitude phase, then uses the FFT transform and deconvolution to convert the delay estimation problem to a sinusoid frequency estimation problem. Finally, the Pisarenko´s harmonic retrieval (PHR) and TLS-SVD (total least squares singular value decomposition)-based algorithm is adopted to estimate the overlapped delay. The computer simulations show that the proposed method produces rapid, high resolution time delay estimations.
