Abstract
Activity Plan is needed to provide a means to enforce the policies functionally and effectively for the Policy-based Management. However, it is difficult if not impossible to predefine specific conditions and actions for each service request. In this paper, we propose a technique to dynamically establish activity plan for the Policy-based management. We develop the technique using the Basic Rules which defines only the management procedures. The policies can be organized and managed simply through the Basic Rules. For each service request, the activity plan can be generated from the parameters specified in the request. We have developed the algorithm for translating the service request to the enforceable policy activity plan and have provided an example for its use.
