Abstract
The integrated voice and data CDMA/TDD system with unbalanced timeslot allocation is a highly attractive solution to support the next generation mobile systems with unbalanced multimedia traffic. In this paper, we mathematically formulate an optimal timeslot allocation problem for the integrated voice and data CDMA/TDD system as a nonlinear integer programming problem, which is to maximize the system capacity under the given traffic imbalance. We also propose an efficient heuristic algorithm based on the simulated annealing technique. Extensive experimental results show that the proposed heuristic algorithm works very well and the system capacity of the CDMA/TDD system with unbalanced timeslot allocation is larger than that of the CDMA/TDD system with balanced timeslot allocation.
