Abstract
We propose a simple estimation scheme for turbo decoding on Nakagami-m fading channels without any channel side information (CSI). The proposed estimator is based on the statistical computations on the received signal and provides an estimate of the channel reliability factor. Simulation results show that the performance of turbo decoders is not adversely affected by this simple scheme compared with the other complex schemes.
