Abstract
In this paper, we propose a number system using analog representation with redundancy digit, called redundant analog number system (RANS). Since noise in the circuit becomes errors in the system, an additional digit called redundancy digit is used to recover such errors. A constant time algorithm is also proposed for recovering the error. It is shown that one redundancy digit is enough to reduce the error if all digit errors have a substantially equal error probability density function. Some fundamental arithmetic operations are introduced in this work.
