Abstract
Research activities that can provide adequate contributions to physics and technological issues of importance for both JET and ITER are carried out at Culham and in the European national laboratories with contributions from Russia and USA. The programme of fusion technology (FT) at JET covers a wide range of research areas such as characterization of plasma facing components behaviour, tritium in the tokamak, tritium processes and waste management, collection of operating experience, safety issues and other fusion engineering aspects. This paper presents an overview of the FT-programme and the results obtained so far.
