Abstract
By analyzing the characteristics of classic interactive visualization technology, a framework of a multimedia network learning system based on NC/Linux is suggested. Interactive visualization is implemented by a simplified Java3D scene-graph. Streaming media technology using JMF in network learning is studied, including streaming media capturing, transmitting, receiving and presenting. Field tests of the system have shown satisfactory performance which can implement real-time interaction in a learning system.
