Abstract
The latest status of alternative test sites for radiated emission and susceptibility is to be discussed, for emission measurements mainly the existing and well proven standards EN 50147-2, CISPR 16, ANSI C63.4 2001 and VCCI. Testing is performed at present mainly in the frequency range from 30... 1000 MHz. The above mentioned standards describe the qualification of alternative test sites over a metallic surface called a ground plane. There have been many proposals for draft standards for fully anechoic rooms FAR in Europe. A summary of the developments in recent years and the latest information are given. The status of the frequency range extension in CISPR from 1 GHz up to 18 GHz is discussed, as well as the established susceptibility standard IEC 61000-4-3 and EN 61000-4-3
