Abstract :
This WS features a double-sided view of a lead auditor/technical assessor as well as from international consulting. Is radiated EMC/automotive/telecom (CE-AEMCLRP-MRA) testing in 2003 still a tricky business and/or just another set of regulatory requirements? There are profound differences in reaching cost effective, global EMC compliance solutions for small, medium and large enterprises. The focus is on case studies from Germany, USA, Japan and Taiwan as competitive markets. Accreditations here were performed on clients request under European (EA) rules. This is based on target markets. Counties entering the EU can learn to avoid costly mistakes by prudently implementing and adapting regulations and standardization. Which type of lab will potentially grow? Why do most lab clients in the EU now demand accreditation? Latest accreditation changes, US-MRA, US big three car manufacturer, 2002-AEMCLRP-mandatory lab accreditation and recognition issues including general ISO/EN 17025 challenges will be explained. Optimized EMC/automotive/telecom certification/testing solutions are given. How to do good EMC/automotive/telecom lab planning, investing, building, operating, marketing, managing, staffing, as well as personnel training. How about accreditation, measurement uncertainty and calibration? When does it make sense to set up a multi million euro absorber lined chamber, up to 40 GHz, and if so, how to quickly proceed professionally and save cost? What are the trends in today´s test lab industry?
