Abstract
In this paper, CCD arrays are used to replace linear CCD components that are popular in many high-speed scanners; a high-speed parallel buffer and paper feed device based on static electricity principle are also devised. Compared with linear CCD components, CCD arrays can provide resolutions in two directions, x and y. It can make the scan speed in the y direction much quicker, not limited by the low-speed mechanical driver. And also, the matching problems of scan linearity in x and y directions are solved. Paper feed device based on static electricity principle can make scan scope vary freely, not restricted by the type of scanning targets; and the scan speed is increased, not influenced by the size of papers. The buffer gives scanner the parallel ability in processing data, which can transfer data acquired by CCD arrays more quickly. In addition, the cost of this method is low.
