Abstract
The effects of current limitation and control voltage saturation in shunt active filters (SAF) are discussed in the paper. Starting from the solution proposed, a novel strategy is proposed to guarantee limitation of the DC-link voltage and good current control even when saturations occur. In particular, the case of oversized loads inducing saturations in SAF current and control voltage is considered. Properties of the digital current control performed in αβ reference are exploited in the saturation strategy design. The effectiveness of the proposed technique is investigated by simulations.
