  • Abstract
The lower voltage transfer ratio is one of the shortcomings of matrix converter. The upper limit of voltage transfer ratio under indirect space vector modulation is 0.866. In the course of experiments, it is found that the actual voltage transfer ratio is lower than the expected one. The main reason of this limit is deeply analyzed in the paper. In order to enhance the voltage transfer ratio, an adaptive modulation rate regulation method is proposed. The voltage transfer ratio can be enhanced by 9.75% using the proposed method. The disadvantages of the proposed method are also discussed. The applicable load types are given. Simulation and experimental results verify the theoretical analysis.
