Abstract
A new single-loop maximum power point tracker with fast settling time is presented. It has a very fast settling time to the maximum power point voltage in spite of rapidly changing environmental conditions compared to the conventional two-loop system. Since it does not require the measurement of voltage derivative to track the maximum power point, its structure is very simple and its operation is straightforward. The controller is composed of a few analog components and thus its reliability is very high. It can be a good substitute for the conventional two-loop system that has a slow response time.
