Abstract
A new class of iterative equalizers for space-time bit interleaved coded modulation over MIMO block fading ISI channel is presented. Instead of resorting to conventional multiuser detection techniques (based on the straightforward analogy between antennas and users), we adopt a different point of view and solve the direct problem of equalizing a T-dimensional modulation (T being the number of transmit antennas). Monte-Carlo simulations demonstrate that the proposed approach equals or outperforms at low signal to noise ratio regime the one inherited from multiuser detection with far less computational effort.
