Abstract
Video surveillance is an important way to obtain the traffic information in the highway. It also can play an important role in the case of railways. The background updating is a very important part of the detection algorithm in video surveillance. The common background models focus on the distribution of isolated pixels. This paper discusses the concept of status synchronization of the rail scenery images at first and then proposes a novel updating method based on the pixels set in the synchronous detection line (SDL). Finally an experiment is given to test the algorithm. The experiment shows the result what we expected.
