Abstract
A method combining blind detection based space-time block coding (STBC) with antenna subset selection is proposed and studied in this paper. The antenna subset selection is considered at both transmitter and receiver sides, which chooses the optimal antennas to further improve the performance of the STBC and increase the diversity order. The optimal schemes of antenna selection are investigated. In order to enhance the robustness of the detection used in the conventional STBC scheme, a blind detecting scheme based on the independent component analysis (ICA) is exploited, and it can directly separate source signals without channel estimation. Performance analysis reveals that this method can achieve a full diversity order and a good robust performance against channel variation by using the antenna selection and the blind detecting scheme.
