Abstract :
In order to obtain good performance of data transfer over general packet radio service (GPRS) networks, we have designed a communication protocol architecture model based on user datagram protocol (UDP). In this paper we present a basic overview of GPRS networks and sliding window protocol communication mechanism first, and then design a sliding window protocol (SWP) in our application layer and gave elaborate presentation of its algorithm. The application results show that our approach improves the communication performance of GPRS networks greatly.
