Abstract :
The floating body effects in the differential cascode voltage switch logic (DCVSL) with partially depleted silicon-on-insulator (PD/SOI) reduce the noise margin and cause the additional delay. We propose the differential current switch logic (DCSL) as a solution to handle the floating body effects. Small internal swing characteristic of DCSL suppresses the floating body effects. Simulation results show that DCSL XOR is 1% - 32.9% faster than DCVSL XOR without noticeable history dependence and noise margin reduction.
