Title :
Electron bunching and output gap interaction in broadband klystrons
Abstract :
The principle of high efficiency klystron design are extended to broad-band klystrons. The measured efficiency of a typical broadband klystron is shown to agree closely with calculated efficiency over a band of frequencies, thus establishing the validity of the disk electron computational model. The model can be used to identify and investigate design factors which experimentally are observed to limit performance at either band edge.
