Abstract :
The primary feature of the new "Tri-color single tube NTSC system standard color camera" lies in its basic design concept of utilizing single carrier frequency for the color signal coding, in contrast to most single tube color camera approaches which always have adopted two or more carriers for the signal coding. In such latter cases, due principally to the difficulties imposed on the resolution requirements of the pick-up tube, loss of resolution, spurious signal response and hue degradations were almost always inevitable. In this scope, we have developed an unusual system, by which we have been quite successful in overcoming those difficulties without imposing critical requirements on the tube performance. The evolution of the new camera system comprises both the tube and the circuit developments.
