Design and Implementation of Digital TV Integrated Business Support System

Integrated Business Support System of digital TV, also called Subscriber Management System(SMS), includes subscriber management, program purchase, balancing charges, engineering construction management. It also transmits commands of assignment or cancellation of authorization to CA system by interfacing with CA, which then passes these commands to scrambler, and control of acceptance of Digital TV program is accomplished. Unique CA is required over a whole province, program streams, SI, ECM, EMM are transmitted through SDH network. This paper discusses its operation mode, software architecture and network services of SMS.
