Abstract :
Weather forecasts are a typical problem where a huge amount of data coming from different types of sensors must be elaborated by means of complex, time consuming algorithms. In this paper we present a new embedded data mining system, based on a FPGA (Pasero, et al., 2004), which performs statistical data elaboration on sensorial data and provides nowcasting for the next one, two and three hours. The statistical algorithm has been tested for forecasts of temperature, humidity and rain and provides promising results.
