  • Abstract
    The traffic model of wireless Internet service is useful in many fields such as planning network, optimizing system configuration and developing attractive applications. WAP (wireless application protocol) is a typical mobile Internet application. Based on the real WAP data log collected on the CDMA1X network, a novel WAP traffic model is put forward. The characteristics of the parameters and distributions will be analyzed and the comparison with 3GPP2 model will be given. The research of the network traffic shows the packet data traffic has the characteristics of self-similarity and long range dependence. The self-similarity of WAP traffic will be investigated. And the influence of the self-similarity on the performance of WAP gateway will be given.
