Abstract
This paper discussed the problem of antenna subset selection in multiple-input multiple-output systems. Based on suboptimal sorting, we obtained the straightforward performance analysis with QR decomposition, and proposed a transmit antenna subset selection algorithm that is applicable for V-BLAST systems with ordered successive interference cancellation (OSIC) detection. Unlike most of the existing works, this criterion takes into account the impacts of ordering and cancellation. Simulations had shown that the proposed strategy achieves near-optimal outage capacity and outperforms the existing incremental selection and the norm-based algorithms in performance with reasonable complexity.
