Abstract :
The principle of turbo codes has been analyzed in this paper, and a new unequal error protection turbo codes by designing a new puncturing scheme are proposed. The experiment results proved that under the condition of not increasing the system complexity when the BER is lower than 10-4, the UEP turbo codes achieve a coding gain over the EEP codes of about 0.6 dB on the AWGN channel, effectively realizing the protection of the important information in the encoded signal.
