Abstract :
Most of the luxury vehicles utilize composite body with no metallic roof, which, in turn, necessitates the use of non-traditional antenna systems and mounting locations. On the other hand, a single SDAR antenna at a sub-optimal location is very unlikely to satisfy system requirements. Multiple antennas in a diversity setting offer a favorable solution for such cases. Two independent antennas combined at the receiver is the focus of this study. The antennas are implemented on two different composite body vehicles, and passive antenna range measurements as well as ride-data reveal that the diversity antenna system has a superb reception quality
