Abstract :
Diversity techniques for antenna selection/combining have long been used to improve wireless communication system performance in multipath environments. Here we report an initial study on the diversity performance of desktop PC as a wireless terminal in the home. Internal and external antennas integrated with a desktop chassis are investigated in indoor environments. Performance is characterized by diversity gain and power imbalance.
