Abstract
In this paper, a CCII based analog circuit is introduced to detect the edges of MRI images in real-time. The proposed circuit extracts the edges according to the determined threshold value. The performance of the circuit has been tested on the head MRI and the results were compared with the results obtained by using the edge detection algorithms of Sobel, Prewitt, Roberts and Canny, which are widely used in the literature. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed circuit supplies a high performance at detecting the edges of MRI images.
